Call for Course & Workshop Tutors
Studio One Toi Tū welcomes proposals from artists, makers, and creatives interested in delivering courses and workshops as part of our public programme We are looking for fresh, engaging ideas from across all creative disciplines, and encourage proposals from both experienced tutors and those new to community-based arts education.
We accept proposals across a wide range of practices including drawing, painting, weaving, printmaking, ceramics, taxidermy, photography, digital art, and interdisciplinary workshops. Whether your focus is contemporary or traditional, we are interested in classes that bring something unique, inclusive, and inspiring to our creative community.
You can propose classes for adults or youth, or design a workshop specifically for our school holiday programme, which offers fun and creative learning experiences for tamariki. Workshops may take the form of one-day sessions, weekend intensives, or multi-week courses, depending on your content and target audience.
Successful tutors are supported with access to our professional studios and purpose-built workshop spaces. Located in central Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Studio One Toi Tū offers a welcoming, well-resourced environment that makes it easy to deliver high-quality, hands-on learning experiences.
We operate on a split profit model, which means tutors earn a share of the enrolment revenue rather than paying to hire space. This structure ensures your time and expertise are valued while keeping courses affordable for the public. It is one of the ways we support artists and creative practitioners to generate income from their skills without taking on unnecessary financial risk.
In addition to space and financial support, tutors receive marketing and administrative assistance. We handle registrations and payments, list your course in our term programmes and on our website, and help promote your offering through our newsletter and social media. We encourage you to share it within your own networks too. You will be responsible for planning and delivering your course, but our team is here to support you every step of the way.
This call is open to artists, designers, craftspeople, performers, educators, and cultural practitioners from all backgrounds. We especially welcome proposals from creatives who are passionate about teaching, community engagement, and sharing their knowledge in inclusive and accessible ways.
If you have an idea for a course or workshop in 2025, we would love to hear from you.
